Overton had the highest gains in Algebra I of all High Schools in Memphis City Schools. Overton doubled their percent proficient and advanced from 2010-2011 to 2011-2012. Big thanks to the hard work fo the Algebra I teachers and their implementation of Standards Based Grading.
Overton High School completed the 5 year self-study and recertification through AdvancED in the Spring of 2012.
Overton High School offers 12 AP Courses during regular school hours. They also participate in school wide PLAN and ACT testing.

Overton High School has been named as a new Facing History and Ourselves Small Schools Network. This honor recognizes the body of work that Overton has done through the Facing History and Ourselves Student Leadership Groups, support for the annual Fundraising Dinner, Facing History and Ourselves Electives, and Project Based Learning throughout the school community.
